Eytukan was helping the Omaticaya escape Hometree and was one of the few that tried to destroy the gunships with bows and arrows. Seeing it wouldn't work, he fled into the forest, commanding Neytiri to save the People. He ran, but a tree fell on him, a shard of wood striking his heart. He died in Neytiri's arms, who wailed and cried upon his death, unlike her sorrowful mother Mo'at, who instead cried for the People. Eytukan's final words were said in Na'vi, but translated to, "Neytiri, take my bow. Be a strong leader for the People."
